According to royal biographer Angela Levin, Prince Harry has changed his primary residence to the United States because he is “so angry with the UK”. He has updated his official business records in the UK, making it clear that he no longer lives there. It is claimed that he changed his country of residence the same day he and Meghan Markle left their Frogmore Cottage residence in Windsor.
Levin explained that this move was a “huge change” for Prince Harry, as his “obligations to Britain are far fewer and diminishing as we speak”. The Duke had filled in the forms last year, but they were only released to the public yesterday. The Queen had rented Frogmore Cottage to them, but as they were hardly ever there, she had it in her mind to put Prince Andrew in there instead, as he doesn’t need a huge mansion.
Levin suggested that Prince Harry was “angry” with the UK because of the changes in security measures and that he felt “mistreated”. He also claimed that his decision “could put an end to his annual fear of the British press”.

Levin explained that his decision could have some serious implications. For example, he is currently a Counsellor of State, but as he no longer has a home in the UK, he cannot sign a document if the Queen or King is unwell and hand it over to Meghan. It will also be much more difficult for him to be watched by the police when he comes here because if he’s not a British citizen, he certainly won’t enjoy number one protection. Harry has also said before that this is why he couldn’t bring his family here, that he didn’t feel safe, but of that, there is no longer any doubt.
Levin disagreed with the idea that Harry is “finally accepting” that he’s made his bed and he has to lie in it. She believes that he is so angry with the UK and his family that he feels he has been badly treated. She called him a “very sad man” who is not quite happy with anything. She thinks this move is something that he feels he has to do, not something he wants to do.
