A good Marriage is one where each partner secretly suspects they got the better end of the deal

The Unbreakable Bond That Broke: Prince William and Prince Harry

It is said that “A good Marriage is one where each partner secretly suspects they got the better end of the deal.”

That is indeed the Beauty of William and Catherine’s love story. Despite being the sought-after Heir to the British Throne, Prince William always felt as lucky to have Catherine as she did to have him; a fact that came across clearly during their engagement interview. When asked about his marriage proposal, William showed an engaging and penetrating vulnerability that put the relationship in a very different light to the one the British press has always wanted to paint.

William said: ‘I hesitated to ask Kate’s father first, but then I realized he might refuse. So I thought that if I asked Kate first, she might not say no. So that’s what I did. That’s what I did.

He added: “I had a plan to show my romantic side. You hear a lot of horror stories about marriage proposals and things going wrong. But it went very well and I was very happy that she said yes.” His candid fear that his father-in-law could refuse him Catherine’s hand, coupled with his happiness at Catherine saying yes to his proposal, was innately relatable and matched the efforts he put into his proposal.

LATEST ROYAL NEWS:

After the ups and downs of an 8-year Courtship, spent mostly living together whenever he was not on military assignments, William did not cut corners when it came time to propose to his longtime girlfriend.

He pulled all the stops and flew her to Kenya, Africa for a 10-day safari. Then, he flew her up at 12000 ft on Mt Kenya, in a secret hideaway rustic cabin without signal, that he had romantically decorated with the help of a Masai maid, so he could propose to her, heart to heart; a proposal that Catherine later described saying: “It was very romantic and very personal”

It wasn’t the act of a man who felt obliged to marry a woman he didn’t like, but the act of a man who was violently in love and wanted to woo the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.

Thus, when came time to plan his Stag weekend, William also displayed the same forbearance out of respect for his future Wife.
