Meghan Markle Travels to Switzerland to Support Global Online Child Safety Initiative

Meghan Markle is set to travel to Switzerland this weekend as part of her continued advocacy for safer digital spaces through Archewell Philanthropies.

On Sunday, May 17, the Duchess of Sussex, 44, will attend the inauguration of the Lost Screen Memorial at Geneva’s Place des Nations. The event will take place ahead of the 79th World Health Assembly and is hosted by the World Health Organization (WHO) in partnership with Archewell Philanthropies.

During the ceremony, Meghan will join WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, global health leaders, and families affected by online harm to honor children who lost their lives due to digital violence.

Honoring Victims of Online Harm

The memorial installation features 50 illuminated lightboxes, each displaying the lock screen image of a child whose life was impacted by online violence. The initiative aims to raise awareness about the preventable risks associated with cyberbullying, grooming, sextortion, exposure to harmful content, and unsafe digital technologies.

Amy Neville, an online child safety advocate whose son Alexander is among those commemorated, is expected to speak at the event.

The Lost Screen Memorial was first unveiled in New York City in April 2025 as part of the No Child Lost to Social Media campaign. It will remain on display in Geneva through May 22.
