The Princess of Wales Talks Travel Plans with Her Children During a Heartfelt Return to Major Event

In a touching and candid moment, The Princess of Wales opened up about her dreams of traveling with her children as she made a heartwarming return to a significant event.

Speaking with members of the Irish Guardsmen and their families at the Sergeants’ Mess in Wellington Barracks, Kate shared her aspirations to take her family to breathtaking destinations like Australia and New Zealand.

“George finds it fascinating that he has been to Australia and New Zealand,” she told Corporal Adam Hamilton, an Australian reservist. “I would love to go back there with them now. It’s just about finding the time to do that.”

With a warm smile, she added, “I love to travel – yes, it’s a long flight. But I adore the Middle East because it feels so familiar to me from my childhood. There are so many incredible opportunities to explore the world, and I think it’s brilliant to experience new cultures.”

Her words carried excitement and a hint of nostalgia, reminding us how important it is to balance official duties with personal moments. “We tend to visit further afield during official visits, but it’s about carving out time to experience these countries in a more private capacity,” she explained. “Otherwise, you end up seeing the insides of amazing buildings but don’t get to truly connect with people.”

Kate also revealed her hopes of blending work and family life during such trips. “It’s about combining a bit of work with quality time with the children. I might see you down there!” she said with a playful laugh.

A Glimpse into Family Life

Dressed elegantly in a bottle green coat by Alexander McQueen, paired with a matching hat adorned with a gold shamrock Cartier brooch of the Irish Guards, the Princess radiated grace and poise. Amidst the celebrations for St Patrick’s Day during the annual parade, she engaged warmly with those around her, even offering a glimpse into her family’s current lifestyle.

When asked where they live, she replied, “We are in Windsor at the moment. We were in London but moved there for more green space. It’s close enough to London, not too far away.”

Her thoughtful responses showcased her deep connection to family values and her desire to provide her children with a nurturing environment.

Light-Hearted Moments and Shared Passions

The conversation took a lighter turn when the topic shifted to her husband’s beard. “These trends come and go,” she joked. “I was saying to my husband, I’m not sure how long he’s going to keep his for!”

She also connected with young Noah Hogan, whose father John serves as Company Sergeant Major. Upon learning that Noah is a keen footballer, she enthusiastically asked, “Do Mummy and Daddy come and watch? Do you like the idea of being in the Army too?”

Turning to Noah’s brother, who is the same age as her son George, she asked, “So, you haven’t got exams this year?” When told he had just joined the Army cadets, her eyes lit up. “You get to try so many different things there,” she exclaimed. “Within the military, there are so many career paths you can take. It’s so exciting. It’s one of the things I’m very keen to support – that recruitment side.”
