How much does the Duke of Sussex pay in rent when he visits Windsor Castle?

Harry no longer pays rent and he certainly didn’t rent Windsor Castle. Meghan wanted to stay at Windsor Castle because she thought that, once they got the hang of it, it would be hard to get them out of there (I would have paid money to see them forced out). Fortunately, Queen Elizabeth wanted the castle all to herself, so she canceled Meghan and Harry and gave them a cottage.

I will always think the late Queen decided to move Harry and his wife into a place where Meg would be miserable. How so? Well, Meg is all about looking good (think security and expensive items and not her wrinkled, disheveled appearance), so when Prince William and Catherine the Princess of Wales asked if the super nosy and mean Meghan could please not move into Kensington Palace near them, Queen Elizabeth listened.

She decided to let them have a place in Windsor, and when Queen Elizabeth said Frogmore Cottage was theirs, Meghan didn’t do her homework, and she thought they were going to live in Frogmore House! Big mistake! Frogmore House is spacious, light-filled, and elegant, and it’s where Harry and Meghan had their wedding reception; so Meghan assumed they were going to live happily ever after in the place where her magical wedding reception had taken place.

If only Meghan had done her homework, she would never have asked to live in Windsor. One doesn’t make such requests of the monarch when one is new to the royal family, but Meghan is thick and she wanted the best of the best. Remember that Harry made her think he was equal to Prince William when he is most assuredly not. William was always the heir, and now William’s heir is Prince George. So Meghan listened to the uber-jealous Harry, who thought he and William should split the throne and both rule (I seriously hope he wasn’t that stupid, but with him, you never know).

Anyway, Meghan assumed since she wasn’t going to be living in Apartment 1 at Kensington in the middle of London where all the action is for a woman like Meg, she would be moving into the beautiful Frogmore House. Au contraire, my sweet. Queen Elizabeth let Harry and Meghan renovate the cottage where the staff had apartments, and they were close to the public, too. Not exactly a mansion on 100 acres for them. They hated Frogmore House. Well, Meghan did. She spent most of her time in Soho somewhere near London.

Which brings us back to Harry. He doesn’t have the option of staying at Windsor Castle. That place is being saved for Prince William and Princess Catherine when they’re ready to move in. Harry can stay at Frogmore Cottage this weekend, rent-free, courtesy of King Charles. After this weekend Frogmore Cottage will no longer be available for Harry or Meghan to stay in ever. Andrew is supposed to move into Frogmore Cottage, but will he?

As for Harry, he still has not informed anyone in his family or the staff when he is arriving for his father’s coronation. If he needs a place to stay there are lovely hotels in London, though I do hope he secured a reservation. I cannot imagine any hotel shoving out a paying customer to make room for such a vile, mean person as Harry. He might couch surf at a friend’s home, but does he have friends after Meghan tore through his life?

Harry could have played nice and informed Buckingham Palace when he was arriving, departing, and asked where he should stay. I doubt the staff would tell him where to go (hell?), but Harry didn’t give 30 days’ notice of his travel plans to the UK, as was required by King Charles. Now Harry and Meghan have no home in the UK. Will Harry arrive tomorrow on someone’s private jet? Take the red eye on Friday night and show up to the coronation just as King Charles is being anointed? Nobody knows, and maybe that’s a very good thing.

Windsor Castle is not for rent. Neither is Kensington or Buckingham or Balmoral Castles. But there are some nice Airbnbs for rent. Just not on a coronation weekend.
