What is the popularity of the younger children in the UK’s royal family compared to Charles or his sons?

Who Knew Princess Diana's Mental State Better William or Harry A Deep Dive into Royal Dynamics

Times were different back when King Charles’ two sons were growing up, so Prince William and Prince Harry were seen more often. Access to those two boys was easier due to the relative innocence of that time, even with the intrusion of the paparazzi. Prince Charles and Diana the Princess of Wales were more than happy to offer the occasional peek into the lives of their two boys. Seeing the young royals made it easy for them to be popular, and they were.

Charles and Diana were proud of their sons and wanted to share their progress with the media from time to time, so people saw more photos of them. We knew in general what they were doing. Of course that all changed once Diana died, and then the media backed off, and the royals dictated when and where William and Harry would be available for photos and interviews (if any). The media that had hounded Diana backed off the two princes and agreed to do so until they turned twenty-one, and even then both boys had a loathing for the press. This access made them popular with many people, and the royals understand their children will be interesting to the public.

Fast forward to today and Prince William’s children with Catherine the Princess of Wales are very different when it comes to media access of them. William and Catherine determine when photos can be taken of their three children, and since Catherine is brilliant at taking photos, she is usually the one to submit a photo or two on the child’s birthday. We see their children when they decide they should be seen, and even then the media keeps a distance (most of the time). This access along with the social media accounts keeps the Wales children popular.

George, Charlotte, and Louis are just as popular as William and Harry were. William and Catherine understand the country wants to know who their children are and want to see them, too. It’s a give and take, but a monarchy must know the future heir to the throne (and his siblings).

We see the royal children in the UK when their families decide they should be out in public. Most of the time they live normal royal lives, and since the death of Diana the paparazzi generally respect the privacy of the royals. When it comes to Prince George however, it is a different story. He is the direct heir to the throne, and as such, is seen more often. The media focuses on him more, though Princess Charlotte does garner a certain amount of attention due to being the only princess born to a future monarch in decades.

In my opinion, Princess Charlotte is very popular, since she appears to be the more confident child. Louis is a joy to watch, and he has kept many people entertained with his outgoing attitude. George is more serious, but he’s a good-looking boy who knows his future and he’s popular due to his status.

I honestly think the royal children are just as popular as they were when Prince William and Harry were young, and when these gorgeous children become teens, they are going to melt hearts all over the world. I think these three will be even more popular than any royal children have ever been.
