Speaking in a 2011 documentary titled ‘The Women Who Would Be Queen,’ Arthur Edwards, a 30-year royal photographer for The Sun, discussed William and Catherine as a couple away from the cameras.
Arthur described Catherine at the start of their relationship: “When it’s bad for them (the royal family), you never see them. Whenever there’s a problem, they disappear into one of the palaces. But of course, there was no palace for Kate to disappear into. So she just took it straight on the chin, and she was brilliant.”
Mr. Edwards continued, “She probably got the world’s most eligible bachelor and a nice, nice young man, too, with a great sense of humor. They both laugh an awful lot, which is, I think, a great recipe for every marriage.”
“They are so comfortable together, it’s like they’re already married. He puts his arm around her. He talks to her. They look at each other, and you can see they’re conveying their thoughts just by looking at each other.”

He added, “William is just so proud of her. After they got engaged, I was with him in the City of London, and I said, ‘That all went so well.’ He said, ‘Yeah, but didn’t she do so well?’ He was so proud that she’d come through that big ordeal. They had a mass of people there, and she braved all that. There were a lot of questions, but she answered them very well and he was very proud of her”.
He concluded, “Kate and William went to the same university, they are the same age, they like the same art, the same books. They know each other very well. They know exactly what to expect from each other. It’s a very different story, they are two people entering a different phase of their lives.”
What is quite heartwarming about Edwards’ words is that 13 years later, they continue to ring true for this couple, on and off camera. They know each other very well and continue to support each other through highs and lows.
