Back in 2020, when the World was on lockdown and paranoia and death were everywhere, The then-Prince Charles caught Covid and once again as he did for his Cancer, announced it openly. It created quite a scare for the Monarchy since he was the next in line to the Throne and the Queen was already in her 90s. But we all thought “Well, William is still there for the continuity at least”.

Unbeknownst to us all, William also caught COVID right after his father But rather than say anything, William quietly isolated with his family at Anmer Hall in Norfolk until he was healed.

It later emerged that he had had Covid in 2020 and the press were angry that he had concealed this. However, his office responded that they didn’t want to spread any more panic and fear than had already been caused by the pandemic and his father’s illness.

Indeed, what was the point of him announcing his COVID? Create more paranoia and panic, at a time when the world was already scared and dying? So he made the mature decision to keep quiet to protect the Stability of the Monarchy This is the traditional approach and that is the approach he embraced throughout his life, even in his youth.

Journalist Stephen Bages wrote in The Guardian in 2011 about William’s childhood, “Given the circumstances, it is a miracle that [Prince William] turned out so ‘normal.’ There were no temper tantrums, no documented instances of bad behavior or lack of self-control, no arrogance or snobbery, no incoherent statements, no drug use in public or drunkenness, and no inappropriate girlfriends; indeed, the tabloids have little on which to base their judgments.”

In a Way, Prince William always understood fundamentally who he was and what it truly meant to be “Heir to the Throne” It is not about enjoying privileges and a higher status. It is mainly Sacrifices.

As the Queen once said: “Service demands sacrifices” Thus, William understands that as Heir is called to be King, he doesn’t just represent the Monarchy: He is the Monarchy.

Therefore, any attack on him is an attack on the monarchy and any attack on the monarchy is also an attack on him So he has strived to live his life in a way that always reflects the strength, service, and dignity of the UK Monarchy.

We saw it in the way Catherine and William have risen above all the challenges they have been under from the beginning of their relationship but especially since H&M became a couple They never retaliate against the unfair and vicious abuse or attacks directed at them; they have never given interviews or written books to defend or explain themselves. Indeed, they are humans who simply chose the high moral road to protect the Monarchy’s continuity by overcoming their challenges privately, and it is burdensome for them The Alternative would be to do what KC and QC do: The modern approach of openness so they can maybe raise awareness and gain sympathy while appearing more human. But then, the National sense of Dread would be general. And then the Question would become what is the point of the Monarchy if it is this fragile and unstable?

So Someone has to keep projecting Strength, so others can be human; Someone has to keep taking the brunt of attacks while others can cry victims in interviews;
Someone has to keep quiet and make the mental sacrifice while others complain and explain in books and interviews, That someone has been Prince William
