It’s clear that Meghan Markle only shows interest in the British Royal Family when it’s time to benefit from the association. This was evident last May 2024, when her favored photographer, Misan Harriman, submitted a black-and-white portrait of Meghan and Prince Harry to be included in the royal collection of the National Portrait Gallery in the UK.
However, according to a recent report in the Daily Mail, “the National Portrait Gallery has said it will not exhibit a photograph of Prince Harry and Meghan acquired earlier this year” The gallery stated, “After the portrait was cataloged and digitized, it was placed on our website earlier this month. There are currently no plans to exhibit the portrait in the gallery.”
This raises an important question: How do their fans not see the hypocrisy of these two individuals? Here we have a couple that publicly claimed they were depressed and even suicidal due to their time in the Royal Family. They made a highly publicized exit, touting their desire for freedom and distancing themselves from the institution.
Yet, despite all this, Harry and Meghan continue to do everything they can to stay connected to the family they allegedly sought to escape.
So, why would they submit a portrait to be part of the gallery where Catherine, Princess of Wales, serves as Patron? The very same family they accused of being racist and part of a so-called death cult. What could motivate such actions—unless their earlier accusations were merely lies aimed at boosting their fame and attempting to damage their targets?
This speaks to the vulgar entitlement the couple embodies.

But more significantly, it points to their underlying motivations. Being displayed among the Royals is not just about recognition today, it’s about securing a place in history. As people get older, they start to think about their assets. When you’re part of a family as historically significant as the British Monarchy, your position in the grand narrative matters deeply.
Harry and Meghan are starting to realize they’ve been erased from the Royal Family’s history. While Harry may still have some presence in its past, Meghan has been effectively removed. Their children, likewise, have no presence within this historical framework.
As the Daily Mail bluntly stated, “The Royal Collection holds no photographs of Meghan in its archives, despite boasting more than a million objects.”
This is how old money responds. They don’t engage in tit-for-tat arguments; instead, they methodically remove you from their history, from their circle, from their lives.
Meghan has now realized this, but it’s too late. She clings to her titles and Royal affiliations with all her might, seeking to ensure that her children receive princely titles. Without those royal connections, both she and her children are complete outsiders.
This is the issue’s core, and why time is working against them. Fifty years from now, when royal portraits are displayed in the National Portrait Gallery, visitors will see the past and future of the monarchy. Harry will remain in the timeline of royal history, and some may wonder, in passing, about the fate of the King’s brother.
But Meghan and her children will be nowhere in that narrative.
