During all this time Mehran used to write his memoir, which he completed in collaboration with British writer Andrew Donkin, who successfully published it in a book translated into more than one language under the name “Lounge Man,” the book was a success.

In 1999, under pressure from activists and human rights activists, France agreed to grant Mehran temporary asylum in its territory, but Mehran had traveled deep distances in his psychological disorder and dramatic shifts to other characters away from him, so he stuck to his presence at the airport, rejecting the French offer.
