5) Defenses
Most people are hurt in interpersonal relationships. With time and painful experiences, we all risk build-up varying degrees of bitterness and become defensive.
You’ll feel suspicious of individuals who show “too much” interest in you and instead hunt down relationships that recreate dynamics from your past. you’ll then choose a partner who is aloof or distant. it is not always easy to ascertain once we have our defenses up. As a result, we tend responsible for our singleness on external forces and fail to acknowledge that we aren’t as open as we expect.
