Harry believed he was his brother’s equal and more important than he was. This led him to make a spectacle of himself on the world stage.
When H&M left the RF, they were warned that they would lose their Royal status and the security that comes with it. Despite this warning, they left with Harry’s millions and their popularity intact, along with huge money deals from Netflix and Spotify.
However, after barely a year, their financial problems and dwindling popularity began to show. Their private security and lavish lifestyle were draining their finances. In 2020, Harry tried to regain his IPP security by secretly lodging a review against the UK government. However, the court warned him that if he lost, he would have to pay the cost. Regardless, Harry was confident he would win as a Prince suing the UK government.
It is important to note that 24/7 IPP security is only offered to the Monarch and Heirs, which means that only HMTQ, King Charles, Prince William, and Prince George are entitled to it. Harry, as the 5th in line and not an heir, wanted the same security as William, even though he left the RF.
When the Daily Mail exposed the truth, Harry and his team lied that he had offered to pay for it. This was untrue, as one cannot pay for Government IPP security. It is always granted at the taxpayer’s expense.
After 4 years of court review, Harry was denied the security he asked for, and per the Times, the estimated cost he had to pay was £1 million. His lawyer appealed to the court to get a 50-60% discount, but the judge only granted him a 10% discount.

This discount was granted because the Home Office failed to mention three categories of people for whom Ravec provides state protection when it should have legally done so. The 3 categories are role-based individuals like royals, other VIPs, and those who need occasional support. However, Harry already has a sort of hybrid protection between Royals and VIPs that applies when he visits the UK.
Harry’s request for a discount seems unnecessary, given his lavish lifestyle and the fact that he and Meghan are portraying a life of opulence in front of the cameras. They are living beyond their means and need discounts like regular people.
In contrast, William and Catherine are wealthy yet frugal. Despite their wealth and status, they are humble and tend to wear the same clothes multiple times. They act with the understated elegance and confidence that befits Old money and royalty.
H&M lives and acts with the rubbish opulence and flashy lifestyle of Hollywood nouveau riche. It is about appearances but their pockets have a dwindling limit.
So if they are now working on a Netflix Polo project and announcing 10 projects at the same time, it is not that they want to work, it is that money is getting very low and discounts, are very scarce…
