The Prince has made it clear that he expects an apology from his family. However, according to one royal commentator, Prince William “has no idea” what it’s all about.
Since stepping down as royals in January 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have spoken openly about their feud with the royal family.
In March 2021, the couple gave an interview to Oprah Winfrey and in December 2022 released a documentary on Netflix called Harry & Meghan, in which they discussed their lives as active members of the royal family.
In January 2023, Prince Harry published his autobiography Spare, which describes a physical altercation between him and his brother.

In comparison, Prince William and Princess Kate have rarely spoken about their feud with the Sussexes.
In an interview earlier this year, Harry said, “I’m ready to forgive you [the royal family] for everything you’ve done, and I want you to sit down with me, instead of saying I’m delusional and paranoid, sit down with me and talk about it properly because I want to be held accountable.”
Prince harry also told The Telegraph: “And an apology to my wife.”
Royal family historian Gareth Russell spoke exclusively with GB News to explain why the Duke of Sussex expected an apology from his family.

At Spare, he spent a lot of time complaining about who had the best room at Balmoral. Also, it was an interesting move to publish the book at the height of the cost-of-living crisis.
As the title of the memoir suggests, Prince has always felt like a spare.
He makes rather cryptic comments such as “They know what they have done. This is strange since he wants to describe everything else accurately.
Russell went on to explain the Prince of Wales’ dismay at the Duke of Sussex’s apology.
He claimed: William asks: “What is this?” what’s the problem?’ In part of his memoirs
And Prince Harry says, ‘How come he doesn’t know?’ So I think Prince Harry carries a lot of this with him.
“Similarly, Prince William is probably not 100% sure of what they all saw, according to Prince Harry.”
