The Prince of Wales received a very special gift on his 41st birthday

The Prince of Wales had a very special moment on Wednesday on the occasion of his 41st birthday. Westminster Abbey, where he married his then-girlfriend Kate Middleton in 2011, rang the bells in honor of William’s birthday for the first time since 2019.

A videotape of the moment was participated on the abbey’s sanctioned Twitter runner with the caption” We wish the Prince of Wales a happy birthday! To celebrate, the abbey’s carillonneurs ring 541 draughts of Stedman Caters, followed by a course of London Surprise Royal.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the financial pressures of the global crisis on London’s iconic landmark, the bells haven’t rung for William’s birthday since 2019.

Westminster Abbey has updated its ringing schedule for 2022, confirming the move to 2021, and a spokesperson told ¡HOLA! that the honor of ringing the bells will now be reserved for the Queen and Prince Charles.

At the time, the spokesman said, “It is safe to ring the bells of the Abbey. You can hear the Abbey bells ringing before religious services and during religious festivals. The bells were also traditionally rung on the birthdays of members of the royal family.

However, after Her Majesty died in 2022, the tradition has been extended to Prince William, his wife Kate, and Queen Camilla. The Abbey’s biannual online calendar indicates that the bells will ring on the next royal birthday, on Monday, July 17, when Queen Camilla turns 76, and on King Charles’, on Tuesday, November 14, when the monarch turns 75.

The tradition is strictly limited to these four members of the royal family.

While William probably celebrated his birthday privately with his wife Kate and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, the members of the royal family paid their respects publicly online.

The King’s account was one of the first to post a photo showing William and Charles in a sweet father and son moment during rehearsals for the King’s coronation ceremony earlier this year. William can be seen helping his father put on the ceremonial robe as they both smile. “Wishing the Prince of Wales a happy birthday today!” the Instagram caption reads.
