Harry and William did not get along, and while William had been in a stable and reassuring relationship with Catherine Middleton since about 2002, Harry could not find a suitable woman to be with him. While William interacted with the Middleton family, where he could see what a close and caring non-royal family was like, Harry had not had that experience. So the rift between the brothers was widening, but how it would solidify over time was anyone’s guess.

Prince William felt secure with Catherine. So naturally, he was inspired by his experience with the Middletons to lead his royal family. This means he has to understand Camilla and the importance of her role in helping Prince Charles manage his stress and commitments.
