Why Did The Marriage of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Become a Global Phenomenon?

They did not live happily ever after. And the world learned that royal fairy tales aren’t all they seem. When Diana died in the car crash the world grew up that day. Gone are the days of incessant paparazzi swarming the royals, though Catherine the Princess of Wales had a tough go of it while she dated Prince William. But now the world realizes the royals are people too, with good and bad sides to them. They aren’t perfect. They are expected to look perfect and act perfectly, but Diana’s demise was a wake-up call the world.

While many enjoy seeing William and Catherine’s marriage, they also let them have space. It seems like people don’t want Diana’s son, who will be a king one day, to suffer as she did. People were carried away with idolizing Diana. Poor Prince Charles didn’t stand a chance. Catherine stands back and lets her husband enjoy the spotlight, and we notice. Lessons were learned all around.

But for those who did watch Prince Charles introduce Lady Diana as his fiancé, the world will never be that innocent again. Fairy tales can stay in the books now. Marriages take work, especially royal marriages.
