Queen Camilla deserves to be queen because she is the second wife of King Charles. If the king had been married to another woman, she would have been the queen. If you think about Diana, she spoke ill of Charles, destroyed three marriages because of her affairs with married men (I don’t like to talk about it, but many people are uneducated), and said Charles should not be king. Queen Elizabeth stepped in and supported her son, who is intelligent, prepared, kind, charitable, honorable, and conscientious.

Queen Elizabeth said they should divorce, and the couple did. After the divorce, both Diana and King Charles were free to marry another woman. I don’t think a woman of their choice would have satisfied Diana’s lovers (and I loved her very much, too). If Diana had lived and remarried, I think her love for Diana would have slowly dissipated over time. Instead, she was in a serious car accident and did not wear a seatbelt. How sad, and what a lesson for many of us who think we should not wear seat belts in the back seat.

King Charles was devastated by Diana’s death. He went to retrieve her body, and an ex-husband does not usually do this. But Charles is a decent and kind man. What I wish you knew about Camilla is she was the love of Charles’ life, but his mother and grandmother did not want him to marry a woman who wasn’t a virgin. Seriously. And Queen Elizabeth was allowed to marry the older man she fell in love with at age thirteen! It was the love of her life. The Queen Mother married the love of her life, too! So why couldn’t Charles do that?

It always bothered me that the people around Charles made sure he didn’t marry for love. They essentially decided he should choose Diana because she was young (too young) and a virgin (most older women were not, any twenty-something woman was likely not) and came from a great aristocratic family (who was very messed up).

Now that Diana is resting peacefully, it’s nice to see King Charles with the absolute love of his life. Love won out! That’s to be celebrated. After everything that happened in their lives, they did wind up together. And Camilla was hurt by her first husband, so there were problems there.

Why can’t Queen Camilla be entitled to her happiness? It costs us nothing. King Charles finally married the love of his life after everything that happened. Love is to be celebrated and cherished. Camilla is a good person. She’s been working tirelessly for the monarchy for more than eighteen years now. When will people decide to embrace the woman who loves King Charles with her whole heart?
PS. Camilla is the queen consort. Prince Philip was a prince because he couldn’t be called king. A king trumps a queen, as we see with Charles. A queen can only ever have her husband named a prince. Those are the rules. And thank you for letting me say how admirable Camilla is. I loved Diana, too, but she perished so long ago now. I’m thrilled that King Charles could have a woman who looks out for him as his wife.
